Ce rapport traite des normes et critères nationaux et internationaux, ainsi que des politiques en la matière, pour une éducation de qualité. Le Rapporteur spécial souligne la nécessité de promouvoir l’adoption, à l’échelle nationale, de normes établissant le droit à une éducation de qualité, conformément au cadre juridique international relatif aux droits de l’homme et aux initiatives pertinentes prises aux niveaux national, régional et international.

La Rapporteuse spéciale soutient que l’éducation peut jouer un rôle essentiel à tous les stades de la prévention et souligne le pouvoir préventif particulièrement fort du droit à l’éducation tout au début du processus, avant même que les signaux de danger puissent être détectés.

Education is a fundamental human right of every woman, man and child. In states’ efforts to meet their commitments to making the right to education a reality for all, most have made impressive progress in recent decades. With new laws and policies that remove fees in basic education, significant progress has been made in advancing free education. This has led to tens of millions of children enrolling for the first time and the number of out of school children and adolescents falling by almost half since 2000.

The information contained in the national reports generally provides an extremely valuable resource for research and analysis, experience-and knowledge-sharing, and ultimately advocacy.
